There is a range of government and industry organisations that provide further information and resources on the electrical and electronic recycling industry. Here we have listed both international industry organisations and key organisations from countries in which we operate electronics recycling facilities.

The Electronics Resellers Association International (ERAI) is a global trade association that monitors, investigates, reports and mediates issues that are affecting the global supply chain of electronics.

The International Precious Metals Institute (IPMI) seeks and promotes the efficient and environmentally sound use, reuse, and recycling of precious metals from both primary and secondary sources.

The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) represents more than 1,600 private, for-profit companies that process, broker, and industrially consume scrap commodities, including ferrous and nonferrous metals, paper, electronics, rubber, plastics, glass, and textiles.

The Bureau of International Recycling is an international trade federation representing the world’s recycling industry, covering in particular ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paper and textiles.

US National organisations
- The National Electronic Products Stewardship Initiative is a cross-industry association including regulators, producers and recyclers.
- The National Recycling Coalition is a coalition supported by the US EPA and the US Postal Service to promote recycling of obsolete electronic equipment.
- The Environmental Protection Agency is the leading public body responsible for protecting and improving the environment in the USA.
US Regional organisations
- The California Department of Toxic Substances Control has information on electronic waste
- California’s Electronics Recycling Act 2003 is administered by the California Integrated Waste Management Board.
- The Illinois Recycling Association is a collective voice for recycling on critical waste management issues in the state.
- The Tennessee Recycling Coalition (TRC) is a non-profit organization to promote the adoption of recycling and waste reduction programs in the state.
Canadian organisations
- Environment Canada oversees environmental issues, including waste management.
- Ontario’s Ministry of Environment is responsible for environmental issues in the province of Ontario.
- The European Electronics Recyclers Association - EERA is a non-profit organisation that promotes the interest of recycling companies who are treating waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Europe.
- The Europa website is a source of information on European legislation, including the WEEE directive.
Belgium
- The Public Waste Agency of Flanders is responsible for waste management.
France
- The Ministere de l'Ecologie, de l'Energie, du Developpement durable et de l'Amenagement du territoire oversees environmental issues in France.
Germany
- The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety oversees environmental issues.
Ireland
- Environmental Protection Agency protects the environment through its licensing, enforcement and monitoring activities.
Netherlands
- Nederland ICT commissioned the ICT and Telecom compliance scheme for the Netherlands to Sims Recycling Solutions.
- Dutch brown and white goods compliance schemes NVMP commissioned the processing of consumer electrical and electronic goods to Sims Recycling Solutions.
- The Dutch Ministry for the Environment gives access to legislation.
Sweden
- The Swedish Environment Protection Agency monitors the environment in Sweden.
United Kingdom
- The British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) represents the £3.5billion UK metal recycling sector - a globally competitive industry supplying environmentally-friendly raw material to metals manufacturers.
- The Industry Council for Electronic Equipment Recycling (ICER) is a source of knowledge and expertise on recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment.
- The Environment Agency is the leading public body responsible for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales.
- The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is Scotland's environmental regulator.
Australia
- The Australian Environment Agency provides information on e-waste including The Hazardous Waste Act 1989.
India
- The Ministry of Environment & Forests oversee electronics recycling in India.
New Zealand
- The Ministry for Environment provides guidance on management of hazardous waste
