Eco Days

Electronic equipment is one of the fastest growing waste streams; ‘waste’ that either still has a sustainable lifecycle or that uses finite resources. Eco Days take the form of an amnesty day where people are encouraged to bring in their surplus electrical and electronic equipment from businesses and home for re-use or recycling. 

A typical event would include:

  • Pre-event support for publicity amongst staff, local businesses and community
  • Sims Recycling Solutions support in creating a mutually agreed, detailed, operational plan for logistics and collection on your site
  • Provision of relevant containers and storage units for the safe collection and transport of equipment
  • Management and segregation of materials at your site by Sims Recycling Solutions staff
  • Detailed report by weight and waste stream
  • Factual conclusive report on environmental benefits

Eco Boxes

Eco Boxes can be used as a standalone project or in conjunction with an Eco Day. The aim is to provide a physical presence to encourage the recycling of small electronic and electrical appliances such as hair dryers, remote controls and mobile phones on your site on an ongoing basis.

Eco Boxes can be positioned anywhere within your premises. These offer a visual reminder to employees and visitors to a site, of your commitment to the environment and sustaining resources.  The boxes are robust units which provide safe storage. Once full, Sims Recycling Solutions will arrange a collection.
