Plastic, glass and foam recycling

With over 35 Sims Recycling Solutions sites on five continents, we’re able to generate sizeable quantities of recycled materials, such as mixed and single stream polymers for sale. In addition, sister company Sims Metal Management recovers plastics and material such as cullet glass from vehicles and other consumer goods from many of its 200 sites worldwide.

Sims Recycling Solutions has advanced processes to separate plastics from numerous scrap products such as refrigerators and washing machines, producing clean mixed plastics, free from impurities but for trace elements. These plastics may then be further refined to produce polymer groupings with compatible properties.

These include:

• A mixture of polyolefins: PP and PE
• A styrene material which is further processed into single polymer, if required
• Single stream bottle materials (USA only)

Our dedicated ongoing research team is seeking to further refine other mixed plastics into single polymers where possible.

Buy recycled leaded and unleaded cullet glass from Sims Recycling Solutions. Our process ensures products are clean from metallic and other impurities. The leaded and unleaded cullet is recovered from the processing of Cathode Ray Tubes found in televisions and computer monitors.

Unleaded cullet is also separately collected and available from the processing of other electrical equipment as well as end of life vehicles such as cars and vans.

Buy finely powdered rigid polyurethane foam from Sims Recycling Solutions.  It arises from the recycling of end of life fridges. This material is free from CFCs and is light brown in colour.
